This weekend’s EPL action saw the “best 4″ all come out on top while the two pretenders to their dominance were both defeated. Aston Villa moved back to where every person believed they would be, & Blackburn moved to where everyone hopes they’ll remain.

The first large derby of the year produced a classic in forward play & a headache in defensive play as Manchester United got the best of Manchester City 4-three with Michael Owen coming up in the 6th minute of injury period to claim the victor after Micah Richards went walkabout rather than remaining with his guy.

Mark Hughes screamed foul, as the fourth referee had originally revealed that the game might only have four minutes of injury time, one minute prior to City equalized in the last minute, as it turns out, the celebration continued on for one minute.

Besides, the injury time allotted is a) at the official’s discretion & b) available for both teams. I question if Hughes might give the goal back if it were City who had gotten it?

For utter entertainment the game was a pleasure to see, a genuine seven goal cracker.

Defensively it was a calamity.

Shay Given made 1 of the most terrible mistakes of his career for Fletcher?s first, Rio Ferdinand had an absolute gaffe and was the distinct reason for two of City?s goals.

While Sir Alex Ferguson will be putting Edwin van der Sar into some kind of healing tank to win him back playing as fast as achievable, lets just say that Ben Foster will not be Capello?s 1st selection in South Africa.

Peter Kenyon’s removal from his Chief Executive role at Chelsea comes as no shock, Eugene Tenenbaum isn?t a buff of the ex-United executive & he has been living on borrowed time ever since Scolari’s sacking.

There is a mass of in-fighting and back biting in the corners of power at Chelsea that could threaten to disrupt all of the organization’s great work.
