Quite often, the Freemasonry is referred to as an Occult Science. The Freemasonry originates back to about the 1600?s. They class themselves as a Fraternity. The Freemasons rely on the symbols to which they only know the meaning of. They will sometimes refer to the greatest architect of the world. Freemasons have often made the claim that any member may practice any religion they choose provided they believe in a “Supreme Being”. Christians have wondered if it is appropriate for them to belong to this fraternity particularly when the Roman Catholic Church has banned Catholics from becoming part of that society.

There has been speculation over the years that Shakespeare was a creator of Freemasonry. This is being based on two major plays of Shakespeare being the Love?s Labors Lost and the Tempest. It is purported that these two plays are symbolic to Masonic values. Then there are others that further support this theory by referring to MacBeth.

Freemasonry teachings and practices of the secret fraternal order officially known as the Free and Accepted Masons, or Ancient Free and Accepted Masons. Many people have heard of or are familiar with the order of Mason. Their formal name is the Free and Accepted Mason or Ancient Free and Accepted Masons. Although the names differ slightly the concept on which they are based remains rigid as it has for numerous years.

Freemasonry is by far not a new organization or religious group. Its been around for many many years although having slight variation in names according to the country and state they are related to. Others state that because the secrecy is the priority of the Masons what goes on has never been really released. The Masons look at the fact of keeping their rituals a secret as a bond and not some sinister act. Pro Masons will tell you there are no blood oaths or ceremonies that take place amongst the Masons and certainly no physical violence.

The Freemasons will often boast of past historic members such as George Washington and Paul Revere just to name a few, that they were proud Freemasons. This boasting is as if because prominent men of society were members then the entire organization should be above question.

Anyone that has ever read material concerning the Freemasons will often tell you they find it confusing and conflicting. In most cases, they are right as it?s most difficult to determine what is factual and what is mere speculation.

There are many that believe that Masonry is some secretive type of religion where as the Freemasons vigorously refute this. They will tell you that yes they have a alter which supports the volume of the Sacred Law. Just what this is is not quite clear. They stipulate they open their meeting in prayer, but it is unclear as to whom they are praying to. Some temples will tell you that you just have to believe in a supreme being, while others say it is God. Then there is the concept because they use the name of temple for their meeting places then it must be religious. They state that they simply encourage their members to be active in a religion and church of their own choice.

There are several individuals who are interested in becoming a Mason but just aren’t sure how to go about it. To begin with, they must first reach the criteria that they set out. This means that they must be sound in mind and body. This is the term used from the old day and is not literal as it applied to the current Freemasons. Then they must of course be male. He must have a good background and a belief in God. (This is dependant on the Lodge, some say God other say Supreme Being). There are several informal requirements as well. The candidate’s personal beliefs are important . He must believe in the importance of helping his fellow man. Must have a respect for what others think whether he agrees with them or not. Finally, he must have the desire to excel in his good qualities.

It’s surprising for an organization as secretive as the Freemasons that their name is commonly known amongst the general public. Many people seem to be aware of the Masons although they admittedly will tell you they don’t know much about them.

There has been much speculation as to what takes place at the Freemasons meetings. They are regarded as a highly secretive organization and what knowledge is known about them seems to be conflicting depending on where it’s coming from.

This Lodge was formed by Dr. Robert Morris. He was a lawyer from Boston and was not only a Master Mason but was Past Grand Master of Kentucky. The foundation of the Order of the Eastern Star is an offspring of the ?adoptive rite? of the Freemasonry. The teachings are apparently based on the Bible and its goal is charity and benevolence.
