This book review is a little different from my other ones because this particular article is about one of my favorite romance authors. So I will be covering many books of the romance genre, all by Iris Johansen.

One of the most anticipated movies this year will be the sequel to the Twilight Movie, New Moon. The movie is the second film adaptation of the popular Twilight Novel series. In New Moon Bella and Edward face a new test in their romance as Edward leaves Bella in an attempt to protect her from the dangers of his world. The result is that Bella goes through a dark depression that eventually drives her to her childhood friend Jacob Black. However, she is soon to find out that Jacob has a supernatural secret of his own. With this highly anticipated movie coming out this November many fans will be having themed costume parties for Halloween or simply having release parties for the night New Moon comes out. Whatever party a fan is planning a great idea is to give out Twilight party favors. These will not only be cute accents to the party planning but will also give TwiHards some great collectible items. This fall one of the most popular themes for parties will be the Twilight theme. Twilight is a book and movie series about the romance between a girl and a vampire. The girl is the daughter of the local town sheriff who has come back to live with her father after her mom remarries. The vampire is a resident of the town who masquerades as a normal teenager. As their fates become entwined, they start to deal with the consequences of an ordinary girl being aware of the supernatural world around her. The series has become a cultural phenomenon and with the release of the second movie adaptation, interest has been heightened. This book review is for the Sword of the Truth Series, by Terry Goodkind. Since my reading scope on the classic Fantasy genre is not very broad, I may not be the best source to rely on this for this book review. With that disclaimer thrown out there, I must admit that this is my favorite Fantasy series. As soon as I picked up the first book, Wizard’s First Rule, I was enthralled. I could not wait to read the second book, then the third, and so on (I believe there are ten books in total). The author has the most prized ability to make all of the characters incredibly real to the readers. Even the villains throughout the series seem to be alive, and I felt like I could understand their motivations. To me, that makes the “bad guy” a lot more intimidating; because they are so believable in what they are doing. There are more than one villain in this series, though they are usually presented one at a time, each new villain even more frightening than the previous one.

This book review is for Enchanted Afternoon, by Susan Wiggs. It is a historical romance set in Saratoga Springs in the eighteen hundreds. The story starts out with a very solid beginning. Just after reading the first sentence, I was pulled into the world the author had created.

This book review is for The Season of Passage, written by Christopher Pike. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. It had a great twist on an old and well known subject. The story is supposed to take place in the future. (It was written a while ago – in 1992 – and the “future” is now our past: 2006)
